PREPARATION FOR LESSON 6

In preparation for this lesson, survey the books of Habakkuk and Zephaniah. Write down the different kinds of literature you find in these books. For example, note the passages of historical narration, the passages of prayer to God, and passages of messages preached to God's people.

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will desire to understand the types of literature found in the prophetical books.

2. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn to identify the characteristics of the literature used in the prophetical books.

3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson. It should increase your ability to apply the message of the prophets in your own context today.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Use all the resources and complete all the written assignments of the lesson, expressing your own thoughts and attitudes regarding the kind of literature used in the prophetical books.

2. Obtain a satisfactory grade on the test, demonstrating that you can identify the key characteristics of prophetical literature.

3. Answer the application questions in the study guide, in which you apply the teachings of the lesson to your own life.
