PREPARATION FOR LESSON 3
In preparation for this lesson, read the introductory verses of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel. For example, read Isaiah 1:1, Jeremiah 1:1-3, etc. Write down what these verses teach us about prophetical literature of the Old Testament. What difference should this make in the way we read these biblical books?
Goals and Objectives of Lesson 3
GOALS
In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:
1. We hope you will become enthusiastic about the divine covenant in studying the prophetical books of the Old Testament.
2. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn the history of the covenants God made with Israel, to learn the unique characteristics of each covenantal period, and to learn how people can be classified in terms of their relationship to the covenant.
3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson. It should increase your covenantal faithfulness to God.
OBJECTIVES
When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:
1. Use all the resources and complete all the written assignments of the lesson, expressing your own thoughts and attitudes regarding the covenants of the Old Testament.
2. Obtain satisfactory grades on the evaluations, demonstrating that you can identify the key manifestations of the covenant in the Old Testament, the special characteristics of each period, and the ways people can be classified according to their relationship to the covenant.
