Messiah. Comes from “Christos” in Greek, which means the same as “Messiah” in Hebrew.

Gentile

Non-Jewish person, considered "pagan" by the Jews

City in Asia Minor where Paul was born

Apostle

Someone chosen by Christ to minister, taught directly by Christ, and a witness of Christ after his resurrection

Antioch

City in Syria from which Paul and Barnabas were sent on the first missionary journey

Galatia

Region of Asia Minor where Paul visited on his first missionary journey, and to which he wrote his first letter

Barnabas

Paul's missionary companion on his first journey

Cyprus

Island in the Mediterranean where Paul visited on his first missionary journey

Malta

Island in the Mediterranean where Paul was shipwrecked on his fourth missionary journey

Arabia

Desert region where Paul spent three years after his conversion

Justification

Biblically understood, it is a divine verdict by which God declares a believer righteous by grace through faith.

Theological term for the order of the way salvation is applied to a believer

Theological term for the order of salvation as it is worked out in history

Eschatology

Traditionally understood in theology as the study of events surrounding the second coming of Christ, but also understood in a broader sense as the study of the stages of redemption

Silas

Companion of Paul on his second missionary journey. Joined him when Barnabas wanted to take John Mark along, but Paul disagreed and they separated.

Macedonia

Region now called Greece, where Paul was invited to visit by a man in a vision during his second missionary journey

Under-realized

Term used by Dr. Kidd to describe the theology of the Galatians. He means that they diminished the significance of Christ's first coming.
