In this lesson we are going to study the topic of Jesus as priest. There are three sections.

Old Testament Background
Fulfillment in Jesus
Modern Application

In preparation for this lesson, read Hebrews 4:14-5:10, and Hebrews, chapters 8-10. Write down your thoughts about what these passages teach regarding Jesus as the Priest.

Goals and Objectives of Lesson 4

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will grow in your trust in Jesus as the Great High Priest.

2. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to understand the key biblical teachings about the priestly ministry of Jesus.

3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially in the way you pray and the way you relate personally to Jesus as your mediating priest.

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Use all the resources and complete all the assignments of the lesson, expressing why it is important to trust Jesus as a priest.

2. Obtain a satisfactory grade on the test, demonstrating that you can identify the Old Testament background regarding the office of a priest, the ways in which Jesus fulfilled this office, and the practical importance of understanding that Jesus is our priest.

3. Answer the application questions in the study guides, showing how you have applied the teachings of the lesson to your life.

"Instructions for Lesson 4"

Carefully read the "Instructions for Lesson 4." You may want to print them out so that you can refer to them as you proceed through the assignments.

If you need a little reminder of how to do the assignments, go back to the instructions of lesson one and read the "General Instructions for Assignments" again.
